The NaturalKids Team is a group of like-minded shops on Etsy.com. The team was started by woodmouse in 2007. Early members included faerierebecca, fairiesnest, cozycottage. It was a small group, with a small presence on etsy. Since that time members have come and gone but our mission has stayed the same. To be a group of sellers dedicated to creating natural products for children. We are a diverse group of artisans who make natural toys, utensils, clothing and accessories for kids. Our sellers work with materials from the Earth, such as wool, cotton, silk and wood. Our goal is to support, promote and have fun together while building our businesses.

One of our 1st Team Blog Post read as below and it is still true today....

We are a diverse bunch from all over the globe who have at least one thing in common: we all work with natural materials in our products for children. Oh yeah, and we're all pretty darn crafty & talented too! Wool, wood, cotton...just simple materials direct from the Earth.
So who are we?
Some of us are mothers of small children.
Some of us are mothers of grown children.
Some of us make dolls, some of us make hats, some of us make toys.
Some of us have been selling our wares for many years.
Some of us are just starting to discover our talents and start selling.
Some of us work with natural materials for environmental reasons.
Some of us work with natural materials as part of the Waldorf educational philosophy.
Some of us work with natural materials because we believe they are healthier and safer.
Some of us just like working with natural materials.
Some of us sell our wares for a living.
Some of us sell our wares as a hobby.
Since that time, some of us are fathers.

Natural Kids Store

I encourage you to visit the Natural Kids Store, which has just been revamped and is very spiffy with all kinds of amazing wonderful natural items for your kidlets - the human kind.

It's been a while since I made any cotton bunnies.





I made one today that is SO bright and cheerful, just had to share.

She's in my Woolies shop. Drop on by!

Farmers Market Basket Giveaway!

Fresh from the garden! A fabulous basket of goodies!

This basket includes carrots, peas in a pod, mushrooms, strawberries and plums! All have been needle felted by the wonderful member of our Natural Kids team, The Polka Dot Dragon!

Also included is the basket! Wouldn't your child love to play with this pretend food? He or she can feed it to their friends (stuffed or otherwise), play market, play gardening - so many open-ended imaginative play-times can develop!

All food is made from wool of sheep friendly farms. Core of food is 100% organic wool batting.

This wool food has been needlefelted - I have the UTMOST respect for needle felters, having stabbed myself numerous times during my attempts.

Wool food is best for children who are age 3 and upand who no longer put toys in their mouths.

Fairy Giveaway!

On Etsy, I belong to a wonderful group called Natural Kids. These are shop owners that strive to make toys and other things for children out of natural elements. I LOVE these shops. If you go to Etsy and search for handmade items, type in "Natural Kids" and see what you find!!

One of the members of our group is an INCREDIBLY talented lady; her shop name is Oritdotandolls. She has offered to giveaway a fairy!

I think her fairies are really special.

This beautiful fairy measures 9" high, made from natural merino wool and pure merino wool that Orit hand painted with ecologic colors [without heavy metals].In her hands there is a cotton pipe cleaner so you can change the gesture of her hands.On her back there are cloth petals flowers, for her beautiful wings. She is both needle felted and sewn.


This last picture is a view of the fairy's wings. The detail is so beautiful.

More Natural Kids

The work done by the members of the Etsy team,

Natural Kids, continually amazes me.

You have to check out this shop: haddy2dogs.

She is an artist - just LOOK at her work.

Her sculptures are incredible. The detail ... they are

needle felted - which is a process where you take little

needles with barbs, and poke it over and over again into

wool roving (wool before it is spun into yarn). I have one in my

shop - but wouldn't even dream of attempting anything like

haddy does. This is true soft sculpture, all natural, amazing.
