CPSIA

Consumer Protection Safety Improvement Act, has good intentions. But it will shut down ALL handmade toy and clothing makers. You can read more about it here:

And you can purchase a button here: http://hasenpfeffer.etsy.com/.

Here's a pic of the button:

I'm off to buy mine now....

Snow in Tucson

Yes!, it snowed the other morning. There's lots of snow in the mountains - I'll post pics of that too. But I was so excited, I ran outside and tried to get pics of the snow falling. Pathetic, I know.

:0)
If you look really closely, you might be able to see white flakes falling.
I read other blogs, and I am JEALOUS of your snow. Today it is going up to the high 60's, 70??
Crazy.

New Rag Dolls in my shop!

I had made these for the last craft fair - which was amazing! It was off of 4th avenue, which is to Tucson what South Street is to Philadelphia - which is probably Greek to many, but anyway....

there are 3 that did not sell, so they are now in my Woolies shop - I know it's after the holidays, but I'm hoping somebody will find them and love them. Especially if they have to be taken down after the new CPSA regulations go into effect in February....

Here they are:

this is Tawny....

And here is Perry....

And this is Patches, who is wild.

Hope you love them!

Merry Christmas!

Wanted to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, and a joyous holiday season.

Much going on in the past few months has prevented me from posting in my blog as much as I like to - hopefully life will settle down a bit now.

I'm envious of the snow in many parts of the country - here in Tucson it rained most of the day, and is cold and windy. We've had a fire going in the fireplace since this morning, keeping us toasty.

My 16 year old and I just went for a drive after dinner - just to see some Christmas lights and get out of the house for a bit. I always enjoy these quiet times with my almost grown up son.

I hope you all are enjoying time with your families! And I hope Santa was good to you!

consumer product safety improvement act

Have you heard about the new law that is going into effect February 10th? It may possibly put my shop, and many others like mine, right out of business forever.

Please spread the word :

Thank you.

Natural Pod Toy Store

I love making animals and dolls, WAY more than my day-job (uh oh, don't tell anybody). I've been fortunate enough to discover some new outlets for wholesale-ing my Woolies.

Here's a new one I'd like to tell you about - it's called Natural Pod. I love their website, it is clean and simple and uncluttered.

They sell the kinds of toys and children's things that I love - wonderful for open-ended play and discovery.

I've made some teddies - just for them. And some horses too - cause who doesn't love horses???

Well, don't look at my crummy - too-dark pics - go visit Natural Pod!!!

Animals on the Move!

One of the reasons that my Woolies shop is rather empty this holiday season, is because I have been working like a crazy person on wholesale orders.

These bunnies are on their way to Tree Hollow Toys.

And these guys are just finished, hot off the presses (sort of), on their way to Mildred and Dildred. A brick and mortar store in Tucson, at the La Encatada shopping center. Very upscale, and beautiful. Pricey. So I am hoping that they sell like crazy there; wouldn't that be wonderful??

They really are so much fun to make. Each one has their own personality.

If you ever see something that YOU might want, please just contact me, leave me a note here - I'd be happy to recreate that Woolie animal!!!

I'm Excited

I have an appointment this afternoon with a REALLY upscale toy store. She is interested in carrying my plush dolls AND my scrabble tile pendants.

Keep fingers crossed for me???

UPDATE: YAY! She gave me an order for 4 dolls and 7 scrabble tile pendants. (why 7?) I told her I would deliver them on Friday & she wrote me a check. NOW I have to keep fingers crossed that they sell well there!
