What do you want to do before you die?

What if? What if the unthinkable happened, and you were to get sick, and die? Would you regret the things you always wanted to do, but never did?

Did you always want to take a ride in a hot air balloon?

Have you visited Paris yet?

What about riding the rapids down the Colorado river in the Grand Canyon?

Did you always dream of jumping out of an airplane?

I encourage you to think about it. Life is short, and the unexpected happens.
I feel blessed, because if the unthinkable happened to me, I've done much of what I always dreamed of doing. I would be content. No, I still haven't been to Paris, so I still have some dreams, but - mostly - I'd be satisfied.
Think about it.

My first thought is like yours. I have a count your blessings kind of life even with the pitfalls. And I'm married to the greatest guy and have an amazing son.

But....if we were choosing adventures, I'm one day going to go to Hobart, Tasmainia.

It is easy to forget about the things that need done infrequently or even once in a life time. We tend to assess our life only on a day to day basis. Dealing with what is most urgent yet not necessarily more important. Thanks for the reminder to make a wider assessment of what our current course will accomplish.

Nice question! My list is very long and constantly updated - and I constantly try to fulfill my dreams!
I need the 9 lives of a cat :)

This is such a wonderful post to ponder over! I'm 22, so right now my only wish would be to raise a family and have a farm...I've done the rapids! When I was sixteen I made a list of things I wanted to do before I died and I have completed three things since then: marry the love of my life, go to a Bon Jovi concert, and get a tattoo...I was a little daredevil at sixteen!

I'm just trying to got to my list to do before 40 and I only have 2 weeks left!
But I would regret if in this life I did not raise my kids on a farm!

Girl get yourself to Paris ASAP! :)
Great post, I'm with you in that I've done many of the things on my "bucket list". I would love to go to Italy, especially Florence...and I'm working to get pack to Paris next year, my favorite city ever!

We think about this everyday! Not about death, but about living our lives to the fullest and working toward achieving our dreams. If we teach our kids nothing, I hope they know to be unafraid of being happy and only do the things in life that bring them joy and passion!!

I think about this all the time. I would love to foster a child, take a year off and travel around the world by ship and try to live in the now. By the way, I took a hot air ballon ride and it wasn't till we were way up that I discovered there are no brakes! You can't really determine where you will land and as such we landed fine but on top of someone's roof! Not a very skilled balloonist...

Good reminder for all of us. Go to Paris! And don't forget London and Berlin! I guess at heart I'm still a city girl. I much prefer European cities though. My dream is to move back to Berlin some day and retire there. It's the neatest city there is. It has lots of parks and green areas, cultural events, good food. Why did I move away? Love. I think I have fulfilled my biggest dream: Having wonderful kids who make me smile every day. So I don't regret giving up the city girl life for them. =)

I think for me, it would be one big family reunion picnic, like the kind we had when I was growing up. And I know that my wonderful relatives who have passed on would be there too in spirit and love.
